You may qualify for free doula support through MassHealth
If you have MassHealth you may be eligible to receive doula services at no cost to you during pregnancy, birth, and throughout your postpartum journey.
As a trained birth doula, I provide non- medical emotional, physical and information support to help you feel informed, empowered, and supported every step of the way.

MassHealth covers doula services during:
Pregnancy
Labor and birth
Postpartum (up to 12 months after birth)
All pregnancy outcomes, including pregnancy loss
Adoptive parents of infants under 1 year old

You receive up to 8 total hours of doula visits throughout pregnancy and the postpartum period.
During these visits we can discuss:
Birth preferences and birth planning
Comfort measures for labor
Partner preparation and support
Infant feeding education
Postpartum recovery
Emotional wellness
Community resources
Questions about pregnancy, birth, and newborn care

MassHealth also covers continuous doula support during labor and birth.
Your doula can provide:
Physical comfort measures
Positioning and movement suggestions
Breathing and relaxation techniques
Emotional encouragement
Advocacy support
Partner guidance and reassurance

Research has shown that doula support can help families feel more confident, informed, and supported throughout the birthing experience.
A doula works alongside your medical team and does not replace your doctor, midwife, or nurse.
My role is to help you:

Do I need a referral?
MassHealth has a standing recommendation for doula services for pregnant and postpartum members, so most members do not need to obtain a separate referral before receiving covered doula care.
Will I have any out-of-pocket costs?
MassHealth members should not pay out-of-pocket for covered doula services provided by a MassHealth-enrolled doula provider.
Can visits be virtual?
Yes. Covered doula services may be provided in person or through telehealth when appropriate.
Can I receive more than 8 hours of visits?
Additional visits may be covered when medically necessary through a prior authorization process.
